Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

finallybuilt.com keeps cookies to a minimum, and nothing is stored on your device until you say yes. This page lists everything.

Where you are changes what you see

If you are in Europe, we ask first. The banner appears, and analytics and advertising cookies load only if you accept it.

Outside Europe, where consent to cookies is not required, they load without a banner so the page is not interrupted. Two things still hold wherever you are: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat that as a refusal and set nothing, and "Cookie settings" in the footer always lets you change your mind.

Cookies we ask your consent for

We use analytics and advertising cookies to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. In Europe these load only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you reject, or ignore the banner, none of them are set.

Cookie Set by Purpose Lifetime
Analytics (for example Google Analytics: _ga, _gid) Us / Google Understanding how visitors use the site so we can improve it Up to 2 years
Advertising (Meta pixel: _fbp) Us / Meta Measuring our ads and reaching the right people with them Up to 3 months

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Strictly necessary cookie

Cookie Type Purpose Lifetime
fb_admin Strictly necessary Keeps the site's author signed in to the private blog admin area. It is only ever set when someone signs in to manage the blog, never for ordinary visitors, and needs no consent. Up to 12 hours, or until sign-out

If you do not accept

We still need to know, in the plainest terms, how many people reached a page and which advert or link sent them. So before you make a choice, and if you reject, Google Analytics records the visit without cookies and without any identifier for you: the page, roughly where in the world the request came from, and the campaign tag in the link. Nothing is stored on your device, nothing is used for advertising, and the visit cannot be linked to you or followed to another site.

Whether you see the banner at all is worked out on your own device, from the timezone your browser reports. We do not look your address up with anyone to decide it. If the answer is unclear for any reason, you get the banner.

Our own server also notes when someone scrolls the page, opens the enquiry form or sends it. That tells us a real person was reading rather than an automated fetch, which is the difference between an advert that worked and one that did not. It is a plain note in our server log, on our own servers: no cookie, no identifier, nothing shared with anyone else.

Reading the site

Reading the FinallyBuilt site and blog, without accepting cookies, sets nothing beyond what is strictly necessary. There is no cross-site tracking and no social widgets.

Managing cookies

Use "Cookie settings" in the footer to change your choice, or clear site data for finallybuilt.com in your browser settings, which removes anything listed above.
